About Canales Music Agency

Canales Music Agency is an independent music label founded by Rebecca Canales to support human creators who use artificial intelligence as part of the music-making process while maintaining meaningful human authorship and creative direction.

Rebecca began using AIVA in 2022, added Suno to her workflow in 2023, and has also experimented with other AI music platforms. She has several years of experience using digital audio workstations, including AIVA’s built-in DAW, Audacity, Reaper, and more recently Suno Studio 2. Her production work has included editing, arrangement, and replacing AI-generated instrumental parts with VST instruments.

The agency is built around a simple principle: AI can assist the creative process, but the human creator should remain responsible for the song’s core artistic decisions. For vocal music, that includes writing the lyrics. It also includes developing the concept and directing major musical elements such as genre, instrumentation, tempo, key, meter, structure, arrangement, and production direction.

Canales Music Agency is developing standards for AI-assisted music that distinguish meaningful human creative involvement from fully automated generation. The agency also plans to develop a music chart for qualifying AI-assisted releases. Songs generated entirely from prompts with no meaningful human involvement or direction will not qualify for representation or chart inclusion.

The label currently includes releases under Rebecca Canales and the Catriona McAllister artist identity, with plans to expand its work with other human creators whose use of AI aligns with the agency’s standards.
